This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the First International Workshop on Location- and Context-Awareness, LoCA 2005, held in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany in May 2005. The 26 revised full papers and 7 revised short papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 84 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on context information management and distribution, positioning sensor systems, from location to context, Bayesian networks, context inference, privacy, location- and context-aware applications, and hybrid positioning and user studies.
